Hands wrapping tefillin

It started with a single pair of tefillin, a folding table, and a concert.

By the end of the show, twenty-three Jews had wrapped: some for the first time since their bar mitzvah, some for the first time ever. Standing in a parking lot, surrounded by music and strangers who suddenly felt like family, we heard story after story: people reconnecting with something they thought they'd left behind, of unexpected tears, of pride they didn't know they still carried.

Those stories changed everything.

We realized that Jews were out there, at festivals, in the lots, among the crowds, searching for connection without even knowing it. All they needed was someone to show up. So we did.

Lot Mitzvahs was born from that moment: the belief that a spiritual hug can happen anywhere, even in a parking lot at a music festival. That Judaism doesn't have to wait for a synagogue or a holiday. That the most meaningful Jewish moments sometimes happen in the most unexpected places.

Todays, we are a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit bringing Mitzvahs to the lots and the thousands of concert-goers across the US so that every Jew who wanders through our tent can find community, joy, and a little peace of home.

"Nothing better than music and Mitzvahs."
