Our commitment
Accessibility reflects our values. Just as we work to make Jewish life feel open and inviting in the physical spaces we show up in, we want our website to feel that way to every visitor — regardless of ability, device, or assistive technology.
Standards we aim for
We strive to align this website with current accessibility best practices, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, where reasonably applicable. In practice this includes:
- Semantic HTML and clear heading structure.
- Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
- Sufficient color contrast between text and background.
- Keyboard-navigable interactive elements.
- Responsive layouts that scale across devices and zoom levels.
- Labels and error messages on forms.
Ongoing effort
Accessibility is a process, not a checkbox. We continue to test, learn, and improve. Some third-party embeds on the site (for example, our Givebutter donation widget and Instagram embeds) are controlled by their providers, and their accessibility may vary.
Tell us if something isn't working
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on this site, or if there is content you would like in an alternative format, please let us know. We will work to help you access what you need and to fix the issue.
Email support@lotmitzvahs.org with a description of the problem, the page URL, and the device or assistive technology you were using. We will respond as soon as we reasonably can.
