Donation policy.

Thank you for supporting Lot Mitzvahs. This policy explains how donations are processed, receipted, and cancelled or refunded when needed.

One-time and recurring donations

You can support Lot Mitzvahs with a one-time gift or with a recurring monthly donation. Both options are available through the Givebutter widget on our Donate page. Recurring donations are automatically charged on the same date each month until cancelled.

Secure payment processing

All donations are processed by Givebutter, a PCI-compliant donation platform. Payment card details are entered directly on Givebutter's infrastructure and are not stored on our servers. Transactions are encrypted in transit.

Tax receipts

Lot Mitzvahs is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. Donations may be tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law; consult a qualified tax professional for advice about your individual circumstances.

After a successful donation, Givebutter automatically emails you a donation receipt with the amount, date, and payment reference. Keep this email for your records. If you did not receive a receipt, please check your spam folder and then contact us so we can help.

Refund requests

If you made a donation in error, entered the wrong amount, or believe a charge was unauthorized, please contact us within 10 business days of the transaction. Email support@lotmitzvahs.org with:

  • The name and email used for the donation.
  • The donation date and amount.
  • A brief explanation of the request.

Approved refunds are issued back to the original payment method through Givebutter and typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.

Cancelling a recurring donation

You can cancel a recurring donation at any time. Two options:

  • Self-service: use the manage-subscription link included in your original Givebutter receipt email to stop future charges.
  • Ask us: email support@lotmitzvahs.org with the name and email on the recurring donation, and we will cancel it for you.

Cancellation stops future charges. Charges already processed are handled under the refund section above.
